How to generate a question paper from a PDF
In short: upload a PDF or a set of past papers, ask Notedeck to generate a question paper, review and curate the questions, and export the finished paper to Word. The answer key stays on the teacher-facing pages, not on the student sheet.
Steps
- Upload your source. A textbook chapter, a syllabus outline, or a stack of past papers — see supported file types.
- Generate the paper. Notedeck produces a mix of question types — multiple choice, fill-in, short answer, calculation, and experiment-design — with a matching answer key and per-question explanations.
- Curate into a set. Keep the questions you want, regenerate variants, or select questions in natural language (“give me 10 harder questions on stoichiometry”). Save them as a named question set.
- Export to Word. Download the paper as an editable
.docxwith real formulas, tables, and figures. The answer key is placed on the teacher pages after a page break, so the student question sheet carries no answers.
Sharing the paper
You can share a question set with students read-only, or push it to Google Classroom. Students open it without an account and can save their own copy.
Grounded in your material
Unlike a generic AI chat, every question traces back to your uploaded source, and the extractor highlights the matching source text — so you can verify a question before you hand it out.
